The current Traveller Accommodation Programme 2019 - 2024 (TAP) was adopted in 2019 and will run until the end of 2024. An interim review was conducted in 2022 and approved in 2023 which contains revised TAP targets. The review carried out involved consultation with the Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee, public consultation and consultation with Traveller representative groups.
In 2024, preparation for the drafting of the new TAP 2025 – 2029 will begin and it is hoped that a number of workshops will take place and that there is good engagement from the Traveler Community to ensure that housing needs are identified and delivered based on a scheme of priorities. Details of the dates for engagement will be published in 2024 when direction is received form the Traveller Accommodation Unit in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
