Traveller Needs Assessment

Local authorities, together with Traveller Interagency Groups, may analyse traveller needs to help plan the development of education and training, health, sports and recreation, and public safety services.

Carlow Traveller Interagency Group works to ensure that the relevant statutory agencies and state supported initiatives involved in providing the full range of services to Travellers focus on improving the integrated practical delivery of such services.

Carlow Traveller Interagency Group is facilitated by the Community Development Section of Carlow County Council with the support of The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform.  

TIG members include representatives from the Traveller community and a wide variety of agencies, including; Carlow Regional Youth Service (CRYS), Tusla, An Garda Síochána, The Department of Social Protection, Carlow County Development Partnership, Kilkenny Carlow Education and Training Board, Carlow County Council and the HSE.
