Voids Management

Local authorities manage and repair vacant properties before reletting them to tenants.

From time to time, properties are returned to the Council when tenancies cease. All properties retuned are fully assessed and any necessary repairs are undertaken by the Council. Once completed the houses are brought back into stock and relet. The council ensure that all vacant units are brought back into stock as quickly as possible depending on the complexity of the works required.

The average relet times and costs are published by the National Oversight and Audit Committee annually.
