National Spring Clean Support

Local authorities may provide information and support about the National Spring Clean initiative to community and voluntary groups.

How do I Organise a Spring Clean?

National Spring clean takes place in the month of April each year. Communities and voluntary groups can apply by picking a date and location in April.

  1. You must Register your event with An Taisce online by visiting www.nationalspringclean.org  or call 01 400 2219 to give the details of your event over the phone, or if you received an application form (previous years registers will automatically receive these in the post, or your local council may have some) please send it to: National Spring Clean, Environmental Educational Unit, An Taisce, Unit 5a, Swift’s Alley, Francis Street, Dublin 8.
  1. Once registered you will receive a clean-up kit from An Taisce delivered straight to your door.
  1. If you are involving other people in your clean up, plan all necessary advertising and co-ordination through meetings, pick a date for your event, and promote and inform as many different members of your wider community as possible while you wait for your pack to arrive (allow for delays – it is better for it to arrive too early than too late!)
  1. Once you have a firm date and location contact Carlow County Council on 059 913 6231 or by email to environment@carlowcoco.ie. We will help organise the free disposal of the collect waste after your event.
