Pod Plus
Pod Plus is the new Loyalty card scheme for young people aged 14 – 17+ It has been arranged that information sessions for members of the Carlow Youth Services and for Transition Year pupils in local schools will take place over the coming days and weeks. Pod Plus will encourage use of the resources of The Pod which was opened earlier this year. Members will also be member so the Pod Forum which will help to determine the future direction of library services to young people. Loyalty cards will be available from the main desk at Carlow Central Library following the information sessions.

Events @ The Pod
A new chill-out zone has been provided for teenagers in Carlow Central Library. 
Here young people can enjoy more informal surroundings while availing of an up to date range of books and graphic novels and a selection of magazines. An extension of this area is the technology space where e-books, mp4, tablet and rugged laptops are soon to be available. Other developments include computer games, audio books for mp3 and even more magazines. It is also planned to develop a loyalty card scheme called “Friends of The Pod” and this will be marketed to all second level schools in the area and to the Regional Youth Service. A series of teen interest courses to include Film making, Animation workshops, Fashion and Beauty, Sport and Fitness and Author readings will soon become part of the fare also.
Staff at Carlow Central Library invite even more young people aged between 14 and 17 years to come in and enjoy The Pod. We also invite representatives from Parents’ Groups and Youth Services to check out the services and facilities on offer.
