Culture Night in Carlow

On Friday September 23rd 2011, locals and visitors across the island of Ireland will enjoy the unique experience of Culture Night, a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in a record 30 towns, cities, counties and islands in Ireland.

Pod Plus

Pod Plus is the new Loyalty card scheme for young people aged 14-17+.   It has been arranged that information sessions for members of the Carlow Youth Services and for Transition Year pupils in local schools will take place over the coming days and weeks. Pod Plus will encourage use of the resources of The Pod which was opened earlier this year. Members will also be member so the Pod Forum which will help to determine the future direction of library services to young people. Loyalty cards will be available from the main desk at Carlow Central Library following the information sessions.

Photography Competition

The Carlow in all Weathers photography Competition organised in connection with the new ENFO Point in Tullow Library attracted entries from a wide variety of locations around County Carlow. The natural beauty of the Carlow landscape was much in evidence. The standard was very high. We thank all those enthusiastic photographers who took part. All entries received are now on display in Tullow Library. Judging of this competition will take place soon.

Muinebheag Library Refurbishment Project

Work on the Muinebheag Library Refurbishment Project commenced on Monday June 20th. The project is progressing well. Structural problems are being addressed and work is continuing to plan.

For the duration of the works Muinebheag Library services are operating from a temporary premises on High Street. Both adults and children can browse and borrow books as usual. Daily and weekly newspapers are also available as usual. Public internet access and computer use are available for all library members.
