How to Join
In order to implement these changes, we will have some upcoming closures.
|22nd February – all our libraries will close at 5pm|
|23rd February – Carlow branch – no late. No public computer facilities in any branch|
|24th – 27th February – all our libraries will be closed|
|28th February – normal opening hours resume from 12 noon|
Since January 1st, 2016 Library Membership is free of charge for all. Please remember to bring your library card with you when you visit the library. If you have lost your library card, we can give you a new one free of charge. Remember to set a library PIN for your card to gain access to your online account. All applicants over 18 must provide proof of address i.e. a bank statement, driver license etc.
Student membership is free but a valid student photo id and proof of home address must be presented.
For persons under-18 a parent or guardian must be present at the time of application as signature is required for under-18 membership.
A Block Loan facility is available for teachers and facilitators of groups. Thirty items can be borrowed for 3 weeks.
Guarantors on Block Loan accounts are responsible for all items borrowed under that account.
How many items can you borrow?
Once joined all adults, young people and children can borrow 12 items.
Items can include: Books, DVDs, CDs, Computer Games, Talking Books and Language Packs.
How long can I borrow items for?
All materials can be borrowed for 3 weeks, this period may be extended if the item is not requested by another borrower, either in person, by phone or on-line (using Pin number request this from your library).
If you are late returning, fines will be incurred 5c per day per item. But this can be avoided by using the free text messaging service we offer which reminds you to renew your books!!
